Twenty areas of the city of Manaus will get "smoke"

Manaus - Manaus City Hall announced yesterday, the list of areas of the city that will be receiving next week, the service space spraying (fogging) as part of the shares of 'Operation Impact to Fight Dengue. " The work will reach more than 20 areas - including neighborhoods, housing projects and communities - in the four areas of the city (see schedule below).

The goal is that by the end of February, the fogging has made a 100% coverage of the neighborhoods of Manaus, said the municipal secretary of Health, Francisco Deodato. "The spraying of insecticide is a complementary measure, used to fight mosquitoes in the winged stage, but it does not kill eggs and larva of Aedes aegypti. What guarantees the removal of eggs and larvae are those basic precautions, like avoiding accumulation of stagnant water and garbage, "said the secretary.

During the passage of the vehicle from fogging the streets, directs the Secretary, people should leave windows and doors open, to facilitate achievement of mosquitoes that are within the houses. "The only caution is to avoid being exposed directly to spray insecticide launched by the vehicle," said Deodato.

The schedule of intensification of fogging with the use of new vehicles sold by MS, began to run on the last Wednesday of the neighborhoods Japiim, Ouro Verde, Vila da Prata, core 23 of the New Town community and Our Lady of Fatima I, in the northern area. On Thursday and Friday (20 and 21), work proceeded to the districts Amazonino Mendes II, Gloria, Sao Raimundo, Aparicio and area downtown.
