Heart Diseases - Eight times daily fresh food for the heart

Previously, the recommendation: three apples a day. Now doctors increase the dose. If the fresh foods protect the heart and circulation, it must already eight servings of fruits and vegetables are daily. British researchers have found that it is good for the heart, eight times daily to the vegetable compartment or in the fruit bowl to take effect.

A portion corresponds to, for example, a medium apple or a small carrot. So far, many nutrition experts five portions of fruit or vegetables per day had recommended - or the ubiquitous "three apples a day". After the "European Heart Journal study published is that people who eat eight servings of fruit or vegetables daily, reduced by 22 percent risk of dying from coronary heart disease than people who eat fewer than three servings of fruit.

These diseases are among the leading causes of death in Europe. Launched at the 1992 study, more than 300 000 people participating from several European countries. 1636 of them died of heart disease. Each additional serving of fruit and vegetables a day lowered the risk of death for this disease, Francesca Crowe said of the UK's University of Oxford.

However limited the researchers their findings: People who eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, tend to have generally a healthy lifestyle and good eating habits. Thus, all these factors could impact together on the lower risk. Even false declarations to the fruit and vegetable consumption may limit the validity of the study, the experts acknowledge.
